If you have a stubborn frizzy streak or are constantly feeling the need to do a quick brush and blow-dry before bed, you may need to consider a hair removal.
According to the Australian Cosmetic and Toiletry Association, it’s estimated that more than one in five Australians has a condition that prevents the hair follicle from producing its normal level of pigment.
“It is not uncommon for people with hair loss to have an underlying condition that may prevent their hair from developing normally,” the organisation says on its website.
The most common hair loss causes are: hair loss caused by a genetic condition (such as inherited hair loss) hair loss due to a medical condition (including alopecia areata) hair growth (such a condition caused by hair loss and hair loss of the scalp) or hair loss in response to medication treatment for an underlying hair loss condition.”

The hair removal procedure, called a “hair transplant”, involves removing hair from your scalp, attaching the new hair to your scalp with a special plastic or gel that’s known as a hair follist.
It can take anywhere from six to eight weeks to fully regenerate a healthy scalp.
The hair transplant process is usually performed by a professional hair stylist who will prepare the scalp with the new tissue.
The Australian Cosmetic And Toilets Association also warns against the “curse of the curly”, or having a condition called “hair-braiding”, which causes excessive hair growth in a person’s scalp.
Hair braiding can also cause hair loss.
To prevent a hair transplant, a hair-loss treatment may need: a special device that allows the scalp to grow new hair without the need for the hair to be combed regularly (such an eyebrow comb or eyebrow gel) to remove excess hair
