Cara Devingne has remained on the sidelines after breaking her arm and a broken neck in a freak accident last month, but she’s said she’s doing better and wants to continue to have regular visits to the doctor.
In an interview with The Daily Beast on Friday, the singer-songwriter said she had a “long and hard road” to recovery and that her new relationship with husband, musician and actor Matt Devingnes, was a big reason why.
“I am trying to make sense of this.
I’m trying to figure out what happened.
I have been very thankful for Matt, for his love, his support and his care,” she said.”
He has been so kind and caring.
He has been very kind to me.
It has been difficult for me to come to terms with the fact that I’ve broken my arm, but I am doing better.”
Devevingne had said earlier this week that she had been told by her doctor that she was suffering from a “toxic brain injury” and would need to undergo surgery.
She also revealed that she has not been seen by doctors since the accident.
“It’s been a long and hard path to recovery, and I am so thankful for the love and support of my family and my friends and the amazing people of Hawaii,” Devevingnes said.”[But] I am still very much looking forward to the healing process.
There are many things that have happened in the last few days.
I am hoping that we will have a better understanding of what happened and how this injury occurred.”
Devingnes has been with Devenne since 2009.
They broke up in 2016 and have two children together.
