Maui’s water is so hot that some people are resorting to getting their hair done in the hot sun.
Nowhere is that hotter than at the Maui Water and Hair Care Salon.
Owner and owner-bronze medalist Maui Rainie says she gets the heat from the Pacific Ocean, not from the heat coming from the island’s hot climate.
“The Hawaiian heat is so intense that you have to be careful about your hair, and if you do have it that way, you have a really nice shine.
And the heat also comes from the islands’ high humidity.
So we’re not even going to bother about it.”
Rainie says there’s not a lot of shade in the salon because it’s not located in a residential area.
But if you’re not careful, you could find yourself getting burned.
“If you’re standing on the patio and there’s a little breeze that comes out, and you’re going to be doing a blow job, you’re gonna get your hair really burnt, and it will be really hot,” she says.
Maui Rainies hair care is not for the faint of heart, and not everyone is ready to give up their hair to the cold and hot.
So if you need to get your own hair done, there’s one place you should head.
The Maui salon at The Landing Spa and Spa Bar is located at 818 North Pacific Street, in the city’s historic Downtown District.
The landing is a landmark on the West End, where the Pearl Harbor memorial is located.
It was built in 1918.
But while the building is open to the public, the salon is closed to the general public until the end of the month.
Rainie tells us the salon has been open since May, but it’s been closed for the last couple of months.
“We’ve only had one customer in a long time, and they’ve been very supportive.
They’ve been really helpful,” she explains.
She’s also been keeping busy on Instagram with new posts about new products.
Rainies says there are only about six to eight new products that she’s releasing each month.
She says she’ll be doing some new products every month.
“It’s really nice to be able to see that, and then just have some fun with it.
You know, we’re doing a lot with the new products.”
Rainies salon will be open on Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 9:30 a.b. to 5 p.b., and Sunday from 9 p.a.m to 4:30 p.p.
